2022 Free Concert Series August Artists

We’ve been fortunate to have showcased an amazingly eclectic mix of bands this summer as part of the Free Summer Concert Series and the last two acts are no exception. Come join us at the Montague-Whitehall Bandshell on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm for the remaining concerts. (Note: The designated rain location is Montague High School.) A craft activity for children is available at every concert thanks to support from The City of Montague.

A huge thank you to our individual sponsors and especially our series sponsors, CatchMark Technologies, New Standard Dispensary, Carmichael Heating & Air Conditioning, and the Michael James family, for making the 2022 season possible. These concerts would not have happened without their support! We also want to acknowledge ALL of the concert attendees who have helped fill the buckets during intermission. Your "free will" donations ensure that we will return with another Free Concert Series in 2023!

On Tuesday, August 9th, Grace Theisen will perform her special brand of Blues/Americana. This concert is presented by the lovely folks at Fetch Brewing. If you have not seen Grace perform before, you’re in for a treat. You can get a feel for her style and sound by watching this video for “Down by The River” which won Best Americana Video and the Audience Choice Award at the 2022 Michigan Music Video Awards!

The following week - August 16th - we'll wrap up the season with North Grove Killers who are five White Lake area musicians with a passion for putting on one hell of a show. Comprised of RJ Nordlund (vocals and guitar) Craig Smith (vocals and guitar), Scott Nesbit (guitar), Rich King (bass), and John Smit (drums), the band draws on their differing backgrounds to create a unique and cohesive sound that blends the blues with touches of country, folk, and rock & roll. You can see them below performing live at the Playhouse of White Lake. Big thanks to the Killer Blues Headstone Project for sponsoring this concert!

We hope to see you for the last two concerts! Thanks for making our 36th season of free summer concerts one for the books. Visit our website to learn more about the Michigan musicians who have performed in the series. If you've missed any of the summer concerts, you can check out the Catchmark Arts & Culture YouTube channel to see several recordings of them.
