About the Juror
Heather Placko is the Curator of Education at the Muskegon Museum of Art and has worked in museum education for over 15 years. She graduated from North Central College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Creative Writing. Heather is passionate about creating engaging and inclusive interdisciplinary programming for diverse communities, bringing exhibitions, objects, and artifacts to life through stories.

The ACWL-Nuveen invites artists of ALL ages who have attended or taught one or more of our studio classes to submit artwork created in their classes for a community exhibition. This exhibit will be a celebration of both our students and teachers, giving the public a closer look into the variety of instructional classes we offer and the outstanding creative results! And as incentive to encourage more creativity, all the artists in the exhibit will be included in a drawing to win a $25 dollar credit toward their next class!
​About ACWL-Nuveen Artist Membership
Artist Members sign a one-year contract and pay a yearly fee of $75. All artists must rotate their work a minimum of twice a year and can refresh anytime throughout the year. This membership also entitles the artist to receive a 10% discount in the retail store and when enrolling for exhibitions and classes. The ACWL-Nuveen takes a 30% commission from all sales. To Apply
You will be asked to provide at least 5 images of your original artwork including dimensions, and list prices. Also requested is an artist statement, and any links to your web or social media pages.

Timeline
Applications will be reviewed each fall. The review process has already taken place for 2026, but you may still submit an application to be considered in 2027.
