Job Overview

 

The Arts Council of White Lake-Nuveen Center (ACWL-Nuveen) is a nonprofit operating in Whitehall, Michigan. The ACWL-Nuveen works to inspire the White Lake area through accessible and engaging opportunities in the arts. www.artswhitelake.org

 

The Marketing & Events Coordinator will report to the Director. Their primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a social media calendar. They will also assist the Director with the ACWL-Nuveen website and in promoting and hosting ACWL-Nuveen events throughout the year.

 

Position is part-time, approximately 10 hours a week. Schedule is flexible and there is opportunity for some work to be done remotely. Part-time employees are eligible for a week’s paid vacation and a simple IRA after working with the ACWL-Nuveen for one year.

 

Pay is $13-15/hour, depending on experience. There will be a performance review following a 3-month probationary period.

 

COVID-19 Considerations: Interviews will be done in-person, but masks will be required of all participants. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

​

Social Media

  • Create and post content regularly on the ACWL-Nuveen Facebook and Instagram page

  • Manage ACWL-Nuveen social media pages

  • Be informed of and able to implement latest social media best practices and technologies

 

Website

  • Assist Director in basic website upkeep

  • Help Director post upcoming classes on the ACWL-Nuveen website and various community pages – this is typically done three times a year: April, August, and December

Events

  • Create marketing material for upcoming events and classes

  • Attend event planning meetings

  • Assist at the actual events by setting up and tearing down, interacting with the public, and communicating with all parties involved in the event

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years of related experience

  • Knowledge of posting content on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of marketing principles and practices

 

Preferred Experience

  • Associates Degree or higher in a related field

  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Ability to decipher marketing reports populated by SEMrush and Google Analytics

  • Ability to use Hootsuite to schedule social media posts efficiently

  • Comfort with Canva

  • Experience with various website platforms such as Wix, Squarespace, and Wordpress
