Community Weighs in on Colby Street Pocket Park Mural

On Thursday, May 1, members of the community had an opportunity to meet with Frankenmuth-based Stephen Hargash, the artist chosen to complete the Colby Street Pocket Park mural. Stephen explained his process for creating the current draft and had an open conversation with those in attendance regarding what they enjoyed about the mural and a few suggestions for changes.

What happens next?

  • Stephen will be presenting a guest exhibition at the ACWL-Nuveen from June 17 through July 19, showcasing paintings, other mural designs, and even 3D work. There will be a closing reception and artist talk on Friday, July 18 from 5:00 - 7:00pm.

  • Prep work for the mural will start in mid-to-late July. Stephen anticipates the mural will take 8-9 weeks to complete, depending on the weather. Community members and visitors alike will be able to stop by and watch Stephen work as he completes the massive 120' x 12' mural!
