Professional Illustrator Scott Rosema Makes Two Visits to ACWL-Nuveen

"No matter how long I've been doing it, I absolutely love to pick up a pencil and paper and just start making these marks," said Scott Rosema in a recent interview with the Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen. That passion shows through in Scott's remarkable illustrations as well as in the way he talks about his time spent working with Marvel Comics, Disney, DC Comics, Archie Comics, and more.

Fans of comic books and cartoons had two recent opportunities to share in Scott's enthusiasm when he spoke at the opening reception for the Rhythm & Power: The Art of Scott Rosema exhibit and at a free artist demonstration he led at ACWL-Nuveen.

At the opening reception, Scott told stories about his start in the industry and the many illustration jobs he's worked over the years. He also answered questions about his artistic process, what he learned from his time studying at Kendall College of Art and Design, and who his favorite superheroes are.

Several weeks after the opening reception, Scott demonstrated his work in front of a live audience, free-hand drawing beloved characters like Daffy Duck, Batman, and Spiderman. At the end of the demonstration, Scott raffled off his drawings and lucky audience members went home with one-of-a-kind works of art.

Scott also took time to sign framed prints of his work that were purchased from the ACWL-Nuveen gallery. Prints are still available and most cost just $40, which includes the frame. Upon request, Scott will sign purchased prints for no extra cost. Come to ACWL-Nuveen before March 9 to take a look at the gallery and consider getting your own signed, framed print!

A big thank you to Eastbrook Homes for sponsoring this exhibit. See a glimpse of Scott at work via the TikTok video below!
