July Concert Preview

The July lineup for the 2026 Free Summer Concert Series is packed with more fan favorites to celebrate our 40th season of free music!

On Tuesday, July 7th, we’ll welcome Asamu Johnson and the Associates of the Blues, presented by Walk the Beat - White Lake Area. We can’t wait for you to join us for this soulful evening at the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Bandshell. Smooth vocals, gritty guitar riffs and foot tapping rhythm will be sure to have you boogying to the blues in your bag chairs. You won’t want to miss this award winning band and the fan favorite at the 2025 Walk the Beat - White Lake.

The Westside Soul Surfers are back to perform on July 14th presented by the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Club. The hippest horn band in West Michigan will be playing favorites from rock, R&B and soul while featuring hits from Steely Dan, Santana, Toto, Etta James and Joe Cocker. The Westside Soul Surfers got together back in the days of the Muskegon Summer Celebration, compiling themselves into a hip 10-piece horn band, and have been entertaining crowds throughout Michigan ever since.

On July 21st, we’ll welcome the Scottville Clown Band to the stage presented by Jason Rice with Coldwell Banker Woodland Schmidt. Jason himself is a trumpet player in the band. Originally formed in 1903, the Scottville Clown Band is celebrating 124 years of “The Big Noise from Scottville.” Band members come from all over Michigan as well as several other states. Known for their fun, colorful attire and crazy antics, they’ll be sure to put on an entertaining show. Help us welcome the Scottville Clown Band back to the White Lake area later this month! 

Our biggest concert of the summer will be July 28th, with Magic Bus presented by HarborLight Credit Union and Stan & Jan Gorecki. Join us for a “time machine” experience with everyone’s favorite Woodstock-era cover band, complete with tie-dye, bell bottoms, beads and psychedelic music of the late 60s. Magic Bus brings in the largest crowd of our summer concert series so plan to arrive early. Biking or walking to the concert means you don’t have to worry about parking. We have several bike racks available at the bandshell. Let's see if we can fill them! And don’t forget your tie-dye!

All concerts start at 7pm at the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Bandshell. Thanks to the generosity of the City of Montague, there will be a free craft activity for children available at each concert. An exciting addition to this year’s concerts will be Sassy Cat Coffee & Concessions selling snacks and drinks with bold flavors and good vibes from their mobile coffee truck.
