Celebrating Planet Earth

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

The ACWL-Nuveen is teaming up with the White Lake Area Climate Action Council to coordinate a community-wide Art Display for Earth Day 2021. Artwork created by both youth and adults will be displayed at participating White Lake area businesses April 20 – May 4 with multiple prizes being awarded!

How do you get involved?

To be included in the White Lake Climate Art Display for Earth Day 2021, participants of all ages can pick up a free re-purposed 12”x12” canvas or 12”x12” cardboard display square at the ACWL-Nuveen by April 19th. You can also create your artwork for the exhibit from your own 12”x12” canvas or cardboard display but please note to stay within the 12” format because we are using this as a unifying art module for the exhibit.

Worried about what to create? Don’t fret, the ACWL-Nuveen will be hosting free drop-in studio sessions so you can find some cool art materials to express your climate action creativity and love for our planet. Volunteers from the White Lake Area Climate Action Council will also be on hand during the drop-in sessions to share information about how climate changes are affecting the White Lake area.

Drop-in sessions will take place at the ACWL-Nuveen on the following days:

- Saturday, March 27, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

- Thursday, April 1, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

- Saturday, April 10, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

- Thursday, April 15, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Due to COVID restrictions, space is limited and registration is required. Visit www.artswhitelake.org/upcoming-classes to reserve your spot!

To be included in the White Lake Climate Art Display, 12”x12” pieces of art must be dropped off at the ACWL-Nuveen by April 19. You will be able to view the artwork from April 20 – May 4 at the following locations: Montague City Hall, Edible Delights Bakery, North Grove Brewers, Fetch Brewing Company, Hokey Pokey, Goobers Bakery, White Lake Community Library, and the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
