ACWL-Nuveen Welcomes Richard Vanderputte-McPherson to the Board!

As a nonprofit, the ACWL-Nuveen relies on a volunteer Board of Directors to make the critical decisions necessary for ensuring the organization is fulfilling its mission in a responsible way. This year, we are excited to be welcoming Richard Vanderputte-McPherson into the fold!

Richard has been involved with the ACWL-Nuveen for many years. He started as a class participant and just last year had artwork accepted into our annual Juried Exhibition. (His photograph received an honorable mention!). The staff here also knows Richard through his role with various other organizations in Muskegon county: as a volunteer for the Muskegon Museum of Art, Chair of the Muskegon Arts & Culture Coalition, and as the Director of Development for Muskegon Community College. We are thrilled to be able to say Richard is on our Board and we know he'll have an invaluable impact on our organization. Welcome, Richard!

If you'd like to learn more about Richard, check out his official bio below!

Richard Vanderputte-McPherson is an artist, collector, and creative advancement professional dedicated to strengthening arts and culture in Muskegon County. With a background in marketing and communications, he brings both imagination and strategy to his role as Director of Development at MCC, board director for ACWL-Nuveen, and to his many community efforts. Richard actively volunteers with organizations including the Muskegon Civic Theatre, the Muskegon Arts & Culture Coalition, the Muskegon Museum of Art, the Love is Love LGBT+ Fund, and QPro+ (Muskegon Pride). When he’s not championing local creativity, you’ll likely find him enjoying Michigan’s scenery, good conversation, and enjoying culinary experiences with friends and family.
