ACWL-Nuveen Welcomes New Board Members

The agenda for our December 2019 Board Meeting included voting in two new members - Michelle McCormick and RJ Nordlund. They are both active members of the White Lake community and we are honored and excited that they are now a part of the ACWL-Nuveen team! Keep reading to learn more about Michelle and RJ.

We also said farewell to longtime board member, volunteer, and great supporter of the Arts Council of White Lake-Nuveen Center, Bob Suits. We are so grateful for everything Bob has done for us over many, many years and we thank him for all of his service. Thank you, Bob!

Michelle McCormick

Michelle was raised in a family that celebrated and supported the arts. Creatively speaking, she took years of piano and cello lessons, is a writer, a dancer, and practices yoga. As an English teacher, she encourages a deeper understanding of humanity as well as impactful self-expression. Her efforts also now include providing marketing support for their local family businesses. Through her role as an ACWL-Nuveen Board Member, she will use her personal and professional experiences and her advanced degree to promote healthy growth throughout the White Lake area.

RJ Nordlund

A Montague native, RJ graduated from Montague High School in 2009 and spent a few years attending college, honing his craft as a singer/songwriter, and working for the postal service before landing a job with Founders Brewing Company. It was here he discovered a passion for brewing delicious beers. After working at local breweries and becoming brewmaster for Bare Bones Brewery in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, RJ returned home to open his own brewery - North Grove Brewers. As a Board Member of the ACWL-Nuveen he's looking forward to increasing access to and opportunities in the arts throughout the White Lake community.
