With $93,444 left to raise, we are very close to reaching our $500,000 goal for the Arts Council of White Lake-Nuveen Center’s Endowment Fund! The George and Betty Hilt Family Fund continues to match every donation dollar-for-dollar, so when this campaign is completed, the Endowment Fund will total over a million dollars! Managed by the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, the ACWL-Nuveen Endowment Fund will generate approximately $40,000 in interest income a year for the Arts Council - a very significant sum that ensures our continued success and growth.
What does that $40,000 mean for the White Lake community? It means the ACWL-Nuveen can increase the affordable classes offered for people of all ages and abilities, continue free summer concerts, add public art to the sculpture walk, and expand our engaging art exhibitions. We can also continue to provide art therapy for people with memory issues, improve the gallery that sells original artwork from 45 West Michigan artists, and host community events such as the Garden Art Adventure. Boosting these cultural programs helps our entire community by further enhancing the quality of life in the White Lake area.
The ACWL-Nuveen staff, board members, and volunteers are deeply grateful to everyone: community members, local businesses, foundations, and charitable groups that have responded to this campaign over the past three years. It is clear the arts are a priority to the White Lake community!
With a pending pledge from an anonymous donor to kick in the final $15,000 if $485,000 is raised by the end of 2021, the ACWL-Nuveen needs to bring in approximately $78,000 in further donations in the next two months. We are excited to report that we have raised over $60,000 two months alone, we have momentum, the finish line is in sight – let’s cross it together!
