Class Description
Ages 16+ Join MJ Ernst for a unique approach to portrait sketching - we will make it a party of sorts! Students will learn basic face proportions and some strategies to sketch a face in 10 minutes. After instruction and demos, we will sit in a circle and sketch each other. By the end of the class you will have created portraits featuring every angle of the face. This is a fast and fun class designed to help you loosen up with sketching portraits. Open to all skill levels. All materials will be provided. Class minimum: 4 Class maximum: 16 About the Instructor: Mary Jo (MJ) Ernst grew up in West Michigan and has been sketching her whole life. She uses all types of mediums in her artwork. Ink, especially solubles, is her preferred choice for quick sketching.  Her sketch style is whimsical and impressionistic. MJ encourages anyone, all skill levels, to pick up a pen, pencil or brush to get started and make a mark! Cancellation Policy
Please note - Registration for classes is required, unless otherwise noted. You may register online, by calling (231) 893-2524 or visiting the ACWL-Nuveen. Please enroll in classes at least 48 hours before the scheduled class time. Courses cancelled due to insufficient enrollment will be 100% refunded. You can cancel your registration up to 3 days in advance of the class date. If you withdraw from a class less than 3 days before the class, you will be given a class credit.
