Class Description

Ages 16+ $12, $10.80 for ACWL Members Don’t let a blurry photo obscure your talent! In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop we will explore why documentation sets the foundation for growing your artistic practice. You will learn: ○ Why good photographs are essential, and receive guidance as you practice on your own work, or work in the ACWL gallery. ○ How to harness the power of video to tell your own story as an artist, and where to incorporate video documentation. ○ How to exercise version control for your files. Which one is the original, which one is reduced in size for CaFE? ○ What experiences to document, and how to leverage documentation for bigger opportunities. Bring a camera phone or digital camera, and we will explore how to get the best pictures and videos out of the tools you’re already working with. Both sessions of the Art of Sharing Mini Conference are designed for artists who have beginning or intermediate exhibition andselling experience. All are welcome to attend, and even established artists will find inspiration and community in these workshops. There will be plenty of time for artists to share their personal experiences and get recommendations and insight from the facilitator and their peers.
