About the event
Learn the history of masks and mask-making while creating a plaster cast mask of your face! In this 3-week class, students will create a mask, paint it, and embellish it with glitter, gemstones, feathers and more!Â
A note about the venue:
This class is being hosted by HealthWest, but is open to everyone!  When you arrive, please let the staff member at the front desk know you are there for the art class and they will take you to the classroom. Please note that the instructor is not an art therapist.Â

This class is supported by the ACWL-Nuveen Scholarship Fund. If you cannot afford the $95 class fee, you may still attend the class for $70, $45 or $20. To see the other pricing options, click 'more prices' under Tickets. ACWL-Nuveen member discounts do not apply to scholarship prices.
About the Instructor:
PJ Johnson graduated from Western Michigan University with degress in art, science, and social science. She owned and operated the Lakeshore School of Fine Arts for 32 years. PJ has worked extensively with a diverse range of students, including those involved with juvenile mental health court, juvenile court, MAISD, Poppen Foundation and AARP. She has also taught for Kendall College in Summer Youth Art Program.Â
