About the event
In the third session of Intro to Photography, students will be taking a photo walk and putting their new-found skills to use! (Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather!) Led by photographer Denise McElrath, this session will also cover how to edit your digital photo files, covering topics such as offloading and importing your photos, color correction, white balance, noise reduction, and cropping. Student may bring their computer and card-reader of they have editing software, or simply watch the process to get familiar with what you can do.
Students should have or borrow a camera with the option to use manual settings, such as a film SLR, DSLR, or Mirrorless camera, to use in this class.
This class is part three of a 4-part series, but you do NOT have to have taken the first two classes to attend this class.
Upcoming class topics include:
December 14: Shooting with Specific Settings and How to Manage, Save & Share your Favorite Images - https://www.artswhitelake.org/events-1/intro-to-photography-specific-shooting-settings-sharing-images
Class minimum: 4
Class maximum: 12
About the Instructor:
Denise McElrath first started exploring photography in a highschool yearbook class. She was then accepted into an after-school photography club where she learned how to use a 35mm film camera, develop film, and print in a darkroom. As an adult, her hobby grew into owning a portrait studio and teaching adult education classes.
COVID-19 Considerations:
We kindly request that all students wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported by the Nuveen Benevolent Trust, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts
