Intro to Handbuilding with Kathy Rogers
Time & Location
About the Event
Students will learn the three basics of hand building with clay - pinch forming, slab building and creating with clay coils. These three essential forming techniques will be used individually and combined together to create unique lidded box forms, vessels and sculptures. Students will also learn how to finish their work using various underglazes and glaze techniques. Hand building the forms with wet clay will take place during the first two class sessions and surface embellishment and glazing in the final two sessions.
*Because the ceramic pieces go through both a bisque and glaze firing any student work not ready to take home after the fourth class will be available for pick-up at another designated time.
