"Scotland the Brave" by Sue Silvis VanSlyke

Chair location: ACWL-Nuveen

Artist Sue Silvis VanSlyke has this to say about the piece: "I was born and raised in Montague having recently moved back. I also played the bagpipes with Muskegon’s Lochanside Highlanders for 13 years. I don’t consider myself an “artist” but I do think I am creatively crafty. I like to upcycle furniture and household items and really love woodworking. I am retired, having spent 21 years with Goodwill Industries of West Michigan in their retail stores. I spend evenings crocheting items to sell at the Artisan Market in the summer with my specialty being “plarn” (plastic yarn) market bags."
