About the event
Urban sketchers show their world one sketch at a time and utilize a raw form of art that requires drawing from life rather than photographs. Sketches tell a story of your surroundings and are unique experiences that cannot be repeated. In this class students will learn the tips, tools and techniques that many urban sketchers use. Students will leave inspired to carry a sketchbook wherever they go to record their daily life. This class is ideal for beginners and for seasoned artists that want to loosen up their art styleÂ
Class minimum: 4
Class maximum: 12
About the Instructor:
Mary Jo (MJ) Ernst grew up in West Michigan and has been sketching her whole life. She uses all types of mediums in her artwork. Ink, especially solubles, is her preferred choice for quick sketching. Â Her sketch style is whimsical and impressionistic. MJ encourages anyone, all skill levels, to pick up a pen, pencil or brush to get started and make a mark!
