The Hand: Practice in Drawing

Oh no, not hands! While the hand can be an intimidating form to draw or paint, we will take a friendly, skills-building approach to the subject. Learn how combining an understanding of your subject with careful, measured observation can make your drawing experience more successful. Learn or reinforce some important drawing concepts that you can apply to any drawing experience. Students will use graphite pencil, have plenty of guided practice, and receive informational handouts on drawing.

About the Instructor:

Laurel Geis has lived in the White Lake area for 28 years. She taught Art in public schools for 30 years before retiring. She is an active artist, working primarily in painting and drawing, and her work has been widely exhibited in sites like the Muskegon Museum of Art and the White River Gallery. Her work frequently includes landscape or environmental themes.
