About the event
Unleash your creativity and sculpting skills at our Teen Free Sculpt Three-Day Camp! This camp is designed for teens aged 14-17 who are passionate about art and want to explore the world of sculpting in a fun and supportive environment.
Over the course of three days, participants will have the freedom to work on their own individual sculpting projects, allowing them to explore different techniques and styles. Whether you're interested in creating abstract sculptures, lifelike figures, or anything in between, this camp is the perfect opportunity to let your imagination run wild.
Our experienced instructor will be on hand to provide guidance, tips, and feedback as teens work on their sculpting projects. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or a more experienced sculptor wanting to refine your skills, this camp is open to all levels of experience.
Each day will consist of several hours of dedicated sculpting time, giving teens the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their projects. By the end of the camp, participants will have a collection of unique and personalized sculptures to take home and showcase.
Students will need to pick up their finished pieces following a final glaze firing that will happen AFTER the final class. Students will be notified when their pieces are ready for pick up.
Class minimum: 4
Class maximum: 8
A Note about the Class Fee
The cost to run a clay class is more than most ACWL-Nuveen classes due to the time and literal energy it takes to fire the kilns. However, if the $25 class fee is prohibitive, please reach out to nuveen@artswhitelake.org and we will do whatever we can to make this class accessible to you!
About the Instructor:
Like many great love stories, Kim’s love for ceramics began in high school. She loved the limitless dynamics of the art form, and it’s been her passion ever since. Recently, she’s been apprenticing with Peter "The Potter" Johnson, the local master potter working at Terrestrial Forming in Whitehall. She’s now excited to begin her own journey creating and teaching pottery to other art lovers.
ACWL-Nuveen Summer Art Camps are supported by the Lothmann Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
