About the event

Spend three studio sessions at the ACWL-Nuveen engaging in creative art play making fantasy animal sculptures out of Paper Mâché. Students will be working with cardboard, glue, paper, yarn, felt, feathers, paint and more! This is a chance to let your imagination run wild and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

About the Instructor:

Casey Bemis is a multi-tasking artist that loves to share all kinds of art-related stuff with students. A graduate from Chicago Art Institute, Casey runs a studio just south of Whitehall year round, painting, drawing and even quilting. Color and texture are key components to her body of work as is observing nature in its abstract form.

COVID-19 Considerations:

Classes will be held outdoors - weather permitting - under a tent with 6 feet between tables. Students will be seated on either ends of the tables - 6 feet apart. If class has to be held inside, we will make sure students can be six feet apart. Class capacity will be limited to 6 students. Each student will have their own supplies that will be sanitized before class. Students should wear masks and abide by social distancing mandates.

Summer Art Camps are supported by an anonymous donor and grants from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
