About the event
Create your own jewelry using hemp, basic knots, and beads! Hemp is a twine made from fibers of the hemp plant and is very strong and durable. Students will learn how to make a half-knot and a square-knot while creating 2-3 pieces of jewelry. Students are welcome to bring their own beads if they would like to, but beads will be provided.
About the Instructor:
Erin Peyer is the ACWL-Nuveen Director and a former private piano teacher. While in high school, she made a LOT of items out of hemp including bracelets, necklaces, and even a belt!Â
COVID-19 Considerations:
Class capacity will be 6 students. If class fills, we will meet outside - weather permitting - under a tent with 6 feet between tables. Students will be seated on either ends of the tables - 6 feet apart. If we have 4 students or less, class be held inside with students spaced 6 feet apart. Each student will have their own supplies that will be sanitized before class. Students must wear masks, use the provided hand sanitizer, and abide by social distancing mandates.
Summer Art Camps are supported by an anonymous donor and grants from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
