About the event

In this two-day class we will explore two ideas; the small landscape (the one hiding under the trees), and the paint medium gouache (the great paint with the funny name).

Many artists pursued the small, quiet moments in landscape in addition to the large grand scenes. These smaller scenes lend themselves well to gouache, a waterbased paint that is much like watercolor, but opaque like acrylic. Let's explore the small landscape, and discover this unique material.

Students should bring inspiration photos from home or scenes/sketches from nature.
