About the event

Want to learn some watercolor fundamentals, a few unpredictable maneuvers and have fun in the process? This is the opportunity for you! In this 4-hour class offered for both the beginning and advanced student, participants will learn how to be fearless and spontaneous using unusual tools to create juicy watercolor washes. Instructor John Herron will demonstrate a variety of materials and students will be given exercises designed to help them paint in a loose and transparent style. All supplies and materials will be provided.

Class minimum: 4

Class maximum: 10

About the Instructor:

John lives in suburban Chicago and teaches watercolor painting at the Evanston Art Center. He studied at the American Academy of Art and the Art institute of Chicago. He is a Muskegon native who specializes in landscapes inspired by Lake Michigan, the dunes, the swamps and forests found up and down the West Michigan shore.

ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported in part by grants from the Michigan Arts & Culture Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nuveen Benevolent Trust.
