About the event

Let's build a functional mug together! Using hand building and slab rolling techniques you will create a one of a kind mug. This class will cover everything from clay prep, how to properly slip/score, visual design, and finishing skills.

Students will need to pick up their finished piece following a final glaze firing that will happen AFTER the final class. Students will be notified when their pieces are ready for pick up.

Minimum: 4

Maximum: 6

About the Instructor:

Like many great love stories, Kim’s love for ceramics began in high school. She loved the limitless dynamics of the art form, and it’s been her passion ever since. Recently,  she’s been apprenticing with Peter "The Potter" Johnson, the local master potter working at Terrestrial Forming in Whitehall. She’s now excited to begin her own journey creating and teaching pottery to other art lovers.

A Note about the Class Fee

While most of our Summer Art Camps are $10, the cost to run a clay class is dramatically more than most classes. However, if the $25 class fee is prohibitive, please reach out to nuveen@artswhitelake.org and we will do whatever we can to make this class accessible to you!

ACWL-Nuveen Summer Art Camps are sponsored by an anonymous donor.
