About the event

Join experienced artist and educator Tatsuki Hakoyama for a FREE basic introduction to professional development for artists. In this open lecture-based workshop, Taz will cover what it takes to build a portfolio, artist resumes and how they differ from 'normal' resumes, writing an artist statement, applying for exhibitions, preparing artworks for display, and  how to avoid art scams.

About the Instructor:

Tatsuki Hakoyama is a Japanese artist who works with a broad range of content and mediums, including painting, drawing, and papermaking. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University, and his Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aside from exhibiting his work in various solo and group exhibitions, he is an Assistant Professor of Studio Arts at KCAD.
