Jul 09, 2020, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

ACWL - Nuveen, 106 East Colby Street, Whitehall, MI, USA

About the event

Painting “en plein air” became popularized by French Impressionists who left the confines of their studios to paint “in the open air”. Painting outdoors encourages a fresh and spontaneous approach to capturing the natural scene. Learn the fundamentals of plein air painting with artist Lori McElrath-Eslick - http://eslickart.com/. Students will be instructed on how to use watercolor paint to capture the iconic view of Lakefront Park and marina in Montague from Hansen Hill in Whitehall ( access through the parking lot behind Fetch Brewery) This class is for beginning level students, but more advanced students are also welcomed! The class fee includes all materials.

The ACWL-Nuveen will be setting up portable tables and chairs at the top of Hansen Hill to accommodate 10 students within the proper social distancing guidelines. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes. You can park behind Fetch or the ACWL-Nuveen. In case of rain we will meet at the ACWL-Nuveen.
