About the event

In the final session of Intro to Photography, students will take a deep dive into shooting with specific settings for various types of photography: sports, birds, portraiture, landscape, night, macro, kids and pets. Led by photographer Denise McElrath, this session will also cover how to share your digital images, whether it be through social media, as a gift, or for display in your home.

Students should have or borrow a camera with the option to use manual settings, such as a film SLR, DSLR, or Mirrorless camera, to use in this class.

This class is the final part of 4-part series, but you do NOT have to have taken the first three classes to attend this class.

Class minimum: 4

Class maximum: 12

About the Instructor:

Denise McElrath first started exploring photography in a highschool yearbook class. She was then accepted into an after-school photography club where she learned how to use a 35mm film camera, develop film, and print in a darkroom. As an adult, her hobby grew into owning a portrait studio and teaching adult education classes.

COVID-19 Considerations:

We kindly request that all students wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.

ACWL-Nuveen classes are supported by the Nuveen Benevolent Trust, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts
