About the event
This 8-week ceramic class is designed for beginning thru advanced students. All are welcome to get their hands dirty learning the countless ways to shape clay. Starting with the basics of hand building, students will learn the techniques of pinching, slab, extrusion, coil formation and an intro to the potter’s wheel. The two-hour class will allow for demonstrations of different techniques and studio time to create. Class will be held every Tuesday morning starting on September 22 and concluding on November 10.Â
About the Instructors:
This course will be led by master potter, Peter Johnson at his beautiful Terrestrial Forming studio in Whitehall. Assisting with the ceramic class instruction will be Kathy Rogers, artist and retired art educator and Susan Wink, ceramic artist/educator and Assistant Director at the ACWL-Nuveen.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Class size is limited to 8 students. Students will be spread out throughout the pottery studio and any shared instruments will be thoroughly santized between uses. Students should wear masks, use the provided hand sanitizer, and abide by social distancing mandates.
