About the event
Students will use soft clay slabs to create shallow plates by draping their slabs into and over various sized mold templates. They will be instructed on how to create unique patterns and textures on their slab pieces using organic items like leaves, shells, twigs and other found objects. The students will finish their work by applying colored slips and glazes. Each student will make one large plate and 2-3 smaller plates. The clay pieces created by each student will be fired in a kiln after class. Students will be notified when their finished pieces are ready for pick up!
