About the event

Learn basic technique for creating a journal in watercolor with Michelle Kunze. Students will pick their subject and learn different techniques on starting a journal. From prepping the base layer, markmaking, composition, color, painting techniques and mixing mediums.

Students should bring 10-15 photos, copies or magazine cut outs of the subject/theme they want to put in their journal for reference. All other materials, including a watercolor journal students will be able to keep, will be provided.

About the Instructor:

Michelle has been an artist all her life. She studied commercial art at Ferris State University and later studied art and design at Grand Valley State University. She currently is a freelance artist teaching painting classes and sign classes. You can find some of her art on Instagram @michelle.kunza

COVID-19 Considerations:

Classes will be held outdoors - weather permitting - under a tent with 6 feet between tables. Students will be seated on either ends of the tables - 6 feet apart. If class has to be held inside, we will make sure students can be six feet apart. Class capacity will be limited to 6 students. Each student will have their own supplies that will be sanitized before class. Students should wear masks and abide by social distancing mandates.

Summer Art Camps are supported by an anonymous donor and grants from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
