In 2005, ambitious Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen Center volunteers set a goal of installing multiple sculptures along the Hart-Montague Bike Trail. Almost 20 years later, there are 19 pieces of public artwork along a 3-mile stretch from Montague to Whitehall. To celebrate these pieces of art and to expand on our annual outdoor art classes and events, the ACWL-Nuveen will be hosting Plein Air on the Art Walk on Saturday, June 22.
The Sailboat/Trees sculpture by George Ramsay located in Covell Park will be our home-base for the event with ACWL-Nuveen providing a canopy tent with coffee, water and snacks. We will kick-off the day with a demonstration by award-winning plein air painter, Eric Michaels at 9:00am. After the demo participants will have approximately 3 hours to create. We'll meet back up at 1:15 to share artwork and to draw the raffle prize winners for two Blick Art Materials $50 gift certificates.
