As we look forward to autumn and all the wonderful activities that come along with the change in seasons, it's nice to take a moment to look back and appreciate the highlights of this past summer. At ACWL-Nuveen, a bright spot in our summer is always the free summer concert series, which recently concluded its 37th year.
This year's series saw a range of musical genres from classic rock to hip hop to bluegrass to jazz. At the Montague-Whitehall Rotary Band Shell, we had a chance to see established, award-winning bands like Full Cord and Nathan Walton & The Remedy as well as up-and-coming artists like Jordan Hamilton and Kyle Brown & the Human Condition. We also had what might have been our biggest turnout ever when Magic Bus packed the park (see photo above).
Visit our website to learn more about all the talented Michigan musicians featured this past summer. You can also re-live some of this past summer's concerts by listening to our Spotify playlist. And if you'd like to give feedback on this past year's series and/or suggest artists for next year's series, you can fill out this brief survey.
Finally, before we start planning for our 38th year for free summer concerts, we want to say a thank you to all the individual sponsors. And a special thanks to our series sponsors, Carmichael's Heating & Air-Conditioning, CatchMark Technologies, Viola Bray Charitable Trust, and the Michael James family for making the 2023 season possible!
