About the event
Have you ever looked at a colorful glass sun catcher and marveled at how the light reflects off the surface and wondered how it was made? In this class you will have the opportunity to create two of your very own sun catchers and two unique small bowls. On day one students will learn about glass fusing and then cut and assemble pieces of colorful glass to create images or patterned designs for their suncatchers. Day two the instructor will help the students select glass to be used to create bold patterns for two small dishes. Once all of the glass pieces are assembled the instructor will fuse the individual student artwork in a kiln. The students will be notified at a later date when they can pick up their finished pieces.
Minimum: 4

About the Instructor:
Judy Sparks Grifhorst has been an educator for 42 years, grades K-5th. As a retired teacher she was looking for a way to retire, inspire, and refire herself. She found it with a new passion with glass fusing. From sun catchers, nightlights, to large platters. Her love of glass fusion continues to grow, as she shares this new love with others.Â
ACWL-Nuveen Summer Art Camps are sponsored by the Lothmann Family Fund of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.Â
